Zendaya Officially Joins Shrek 5, Playing as Cameron Diaz's Daughter

JAKARTA - The production of Shrek 5 has added a new cast member. Actress Zendaya has joined the production for the fifth installment, as announced on her social media accounts.

Zendaya will play Felicia, the daughter of Shrek (Mike Myers) and Fiona (Cameron Diaz). This news was announced through a teaser shared on Thursday, February 27th.

The short teaser shows Donkey (Eddie Murphy) asking a mirror, "Hey Magic Mirror, who's the fairest of them all?"

The Magic Mirror replies, "Why Shrek! Of course."

The Magic Mirror then shows its 21st-century side by showing a contemporary visual, prompting a response from Felicia and Fiona. Shrek asks, "Who makes things like this?"

Pinocchio's figure and iconic nose begin to elongate as he replies, "Not me!"

The video ends with a list of the main cast members of Shrek 5, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, and Cameron Diaz reprising their roles, with Zendaya's name appearing as the final name.

In 2017, Zendaya tweeted on X, saying, "I used to watch Shrek a lot growing up, too."

Shrek 5 was made 15 years after the last film. As one of the most successful franchises, it also became the first Oscar-winning animated film. The franchise also spawned a spin-off, Puss in Boots.

The film also returns as directors Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon, after they worked on several Shrek films separately.

Shrek is Zendaya's latest addition to Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, the fourth Spider-Man film, and the third season of the Euphoria series. Shrek 5 will hit theaters on December 23, 2026.
