US Deportation Of Men Robbing USD 1.5 Million Fugitive Moscow
JAKARTA - The United States deported a Russian man wanted by Moscow on charges of armed robbery.
In a statement published on Telegram, Russian attorney general said Dmitry Koshelev was deported from the US and will arrive in Moscow, Russia, via Cairo.
As reported by Reuters on Thursday, February 27, Koshelev was part of a group that stole $1.5 million at gunpoint from a courier at Pulkovo St Petersburg airport in 2014, dressed as a member of Russian special forces.
The perpetrator then appeared in the US, where he was convicted of immigration offenses and deported on Russian initiatives.

The move comes amid warming relations between the US and Russia, where diplomats met in Turkey on Thursday as part of a broader dialogue aimed at improving relations and ending the war in Ukraine.
The disbursement of relations also led to a prisoner swap earlier this month, with the US releasing Russian cryptocurrency tycoons in exchange for a US school teacher who has been jailed in Russia for drug charges.
