Commission II Of The DPR Taksir Cost Of Re-voting For The Regional Head Election Reaches Rp1 Trillion
JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR estimates the estimated costs disbursed to hold re-voting (PSU) in a number of regions due to the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) on the Dispute over the General Election Results of Regional Heads 2024.
The cost of PSU Pilkada in these 24 regions is estimated to almost reach Rp1 trillion.
"Earlier, I calculated that it could be up to Rp900 (billion) to Rp1 trillion," said Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Dede Yusuf, Thursday, December 27.
These costs, continued Dede, came from the budget needs conveyed by the election organizing agency to hold re-voting (PSU) to the budget of the security forces to carry out the security function.
The amount of the budget was revealed when Commission II of the DPR held a working meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs, KPU, Bawaslu and DKPP on Thursday, February 27, today.
"The General Election Commission (needs a budget, ed) approximately Rp486 billion, Bawaslu approximately Rp215 (billion), added that if there is a re-cash of approximately Rp250 (billion). Not yet TNI and Polri if they have to carry out security functions," he explained.
The West Java electoral district Democratic legislator stated that the budget for holding the PSU would be borne by the regional budget (APBD). If this is not enough, it will be supported by the state budget (APBN) from the central government.
"The rest, maybe the central government is in accordance with the mandate of the law that if the local government is not able, then the central government can (support PSU financing). Well, this 'can' connotation is what we have to sit down together. The government must be ready, like it or not, to be ready to implement the PSU," he explained.

Dede explained that Commission II of the DPR gave the government time to simulate the certainty of the PSU financing mechanism using the APBD and APBN within 10 working days from the Commission II meeting of the DPR today. Moreover, the first PSU batch has a deadline of 30 days, and it has been agreed to take place on March 22.
"We give the government a 10-day deadline to immediately convey later to the DPR what the regions can prepare and what can be prepared by the central government," he concluded.
