KKP Reveals Availability Of Fish Ahead Of Ramadan And Eid 2025 Capai 3.06 Million Tons
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) revealed that the availability of fish entering the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri reached 3.06 million tons.
This was conveyed by the Minister of KP Sakti Wahyu Trenggono in a working meeting (Raker) with Commission IV of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 27.
"Regarding the availability of fish entering the month of Ramadan and before Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri, the KKP has calculated the prognosis of fish production from January to March 2025 of 3.06 million tons," said Trenggono.
In detail, the production of cultivation fish is 1.59 million tons and catch fish production reaches 1.47 million tons.
In addition, said Trenggono, his party has also identified a number of locations prone to shortages of fish availability and preference for fish type consumption in each location.
The locations include the cities of Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Palembang, Bandar Lampung, Makassar, Ambon and Banjarmasin.
"Based on the results of the analysis by considering the availability of fish and their needs in each consumer center location, the KKP is optimistic that the availability of fish ahead of the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri is safe to meet the needs of the community," he concluded.

Previously, the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) would hold an Isbat Session to determine the beginning of Ramadan 1446 Hijri on Friday, February 28. This trial is an important moment for Muslims in Indonesia because it determines when fasting will start.
The Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religion, Abu Rokhmad, explained that the isbat session will be held at the HM Rasjidi Auditorium, Ministry of Religion, Jakarta.
As in previous years, the trial will involve various parties, including representatives of Islamic community organizations, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), experts as well as representatives from the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Supreme Court (MA).
