YouTube Will Make Ads In The Middle Of Videos Not Too Annoying
JAKARTA YouTube announced changes to how to display mid-roll ads, with the aim of making them more natural and not disturbing the viewing experience.
Starting May 12, 2025, YouTube will move ads that are considered too annoying to the natural break point in the video. For example, advertisements that appear in the middle of sentences or action scenes will be moved to more appropriate video sections, such as when there is a pause or transition.
For viewers, the number of advertisements displayed remains the same, but the placement will be better so as not to cut the important part of the video.
In addition, YouTube will also update the old video (which was uploaded before February 24, 2025) with automatic ads placed at the natural break point. However, creators can disable this feature via YouTube Studio on the Earn tab.
For YouTube creators, this change can bring benefits and losses:
More Revenue Potential YouTube claims that the experiment in July 2024 showed a 5% increase in ad revenue for canals that use manual and automatic ad combinations.
Two New Features For Creators

While creators can still place ads manually, inappropriate placements can reduce their income. In other words, creators need to adapt to these new rules if they want to keep optimal results from monetizing their videos.
This change shows that YouTube is trying to improve user experience while maintaining revenue sources for creators.
