National Police Chief Guarantees Availability And Food Prices According To HET During Ramadan
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo will deploy his staff to ensure food prices are in accordance with the Highest Retail Price (HET) during the Ramadan moment.
The statement was made after attending a limited coordination meeting (Rakor) with the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan, at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Jakarta.
"First, absorption of rice in accordance with what is the decision of the Government of 6,500. We send members in the field to ensure and carry out checks so that absorption is appropriate," said Sigit, Wednesday, February 26.
The National Police is known to have a food task force that will ensure the smooth transportation and distribution of basic commodities from production centers to markets, especially the main market in various regions.
Sigit reiterated that the National Police will participate in supervising the sale of basic necessities in the market and other retailers. Thus, people do not buy necessities at high prices.
"Then regarding the price of basic commodities during Ramadan in retailers or traditional markets, prices must be appropriate for HET. Tomorrow I will deploy members to the field for control if there is a price exceeding the HET, we will investigate where the cause is and we will arrange it," he said.
In fact, it is stated that the Police do not hesitate to take firm action against all parties who try to play prices by taking advantage of the momentum of Ramadan. With this commitment, it is hoped that the community will not be burdened by the high selling price of rice and basic necessities during Ramadan and beyond.
"Especially if there is a game carried out by speculators using the month of Ramadan," said the National Police Chief.
