Facilitating The Distribution Of Humanitarian Aid To Palestine, The Deputy Minister Of Foreign Affairs Of The Republic Of Indonesia Ensures That The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Is Not Indecisive About Finance

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will not interfere in the finances of charitable institutions and humanitarian aid participating in a coordination campaign with assistance for Palestine, said Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Anis Matta.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is collaborating with the Indonesian Ulema Council, Baznas and various zakat and humanitarian institutions to launch a campaign to sign the Joint Campaign Support for "Indonesia for Palestine: Solidarity, Real Actions and New Hopes" at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta.

Deputy Foreign Minister Anis Matta said the initial target of this coordination was around 200 million US dollars or around Rp. 3.2 trillion in humanitarian aid that could be collected.

"This figure, if we look at the total funds that have been collected so far, is actually a figure that is not too large. Because NGO friends (Non-Profit Organization) have been working on fundraising for a long time," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 26.

He further said, there was no time to raise the funds, with the campaign starting in Ramadan this year. There are two targets, emergency programs during the ceasefire, and later on the Gaza reconstruction program, where Indonesia will participate.

It is hoped that by coordinating in this fundraising, hopefully one significant number can be collected, with Indonesia as the country with the largest Muslim population and the largest economy in the Islamic world.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not want to be included in the details of financial issues within the institution. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' task is to facilitate this movement, encourage, motivate, mobilize, use all diplomatic and political channels to facilitate the process of distributing Indonesian people's aid to Palestine," said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
