Meeting The President Of Al-Sharaa, Jordan's King Kutuk Israeli Attack On Syria
JAKARTA - Jordanian King Abdullah told Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa he condemned Israel's attack on Syria.
The two neighboring countries agreed coordination was critical to border security and restricted rampant arms and drug smuggling that Jordan had been difficult to contain along his border during the administration of former Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Israel launched airstrikes on Tuesday (25/2) night to several outskirts of Damascus and Daara provinces in Southern Syria.
A number of Israeli warplanes targeted the Al-Kiswah area of South Damascus and Izraa in Daara with at least four airstrikes, according to Anadolu correspondent.
One of the attacks was reported to be a depot in Al-Kiswah, which caused a fire at the site.
Israel's defense chief, Israel Katz confirmed the attack while warning that "any attempt by Syrian regime forces and the country's terrorist organization to rebuild in southern Syria will receive retaliation."
Katz said, "The current Air Force is attacking southern Syria as part of our new policy to clear the region from weapons. The message is clear: we will not allow southern Syria to become southern Lebanon."

The Israeli military said their targets "including command centers and various weapons storage bins," according to a statement on Tuesday.
The military claims that the presence of military equipment and assets in southern Syria poses a threat to Israelis and vowed to operate to get rid of any threats.
