Member Of Commission VI Of The House Of Representatives Asks Pertamina And BUMN To Raise Pertalite Issues To Be Oplos Pertamax
JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI of the DPR from the PKB faction, Rivqy Abdul Halim, asked PT Pertamina and the Ministry of SOEs to straighten out the confusing issue regarding Pertalite fuel being mixed into Pertamax.
This is important to maintain public trust in Pertamina as a state-owned company.
"The public is angry because there is information that Pertamax they bought is only 90 RON or the equivalent of Pertalite. They feel cheated and can not believe in Pertamina's gas station anymore. So it must be straightened out accompanied by valid evidence," Rivqy told reporters, Wednesday, February 26.
Rivqy also appreciated the steps taken by the Attorney General's Office (AGO) to reveal allegations of megasdal corruption in the management of crude oil in Pertamina which cost the state Rp193.7 trillion. He considered the case to be Pertamina's momentum to improve itself after becoming part of the Danantara super holding.
"We appreciate the AGO for successfully uncovering the corruption practices that are classified as mega scandals, which have been in a structured and massive manner in recent years. This must be the momentum for improvement from Pertamina as a whole. Moreover, Pertamina is one of the leading assets of the Danantara," he said.
According to Rivqy, this case occurred due to the perpetrators' corrupt mentality and lack of supervision. He emphasized that strict supervision is very important to prevent similar practices from occurring in the future.
"Moreover, this alleged corruption is likely to have taken place from 2018 to 2023," he said.
Rivqy said Commission VI of the DPR plans to summon PT Pertamina (Persero) together with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to provide an explanation regarding this case. According to him, it must be clear how to improve PT Pertamina's body so that this case does not happen again in the future.
"There must be improvements so that Pertamina really becomes a superior company because its role is very strategic regarding domestic energy management management," he said.
He also emphasized that this case must be handled immediately so as not to have a wider impact on Pertamina's performance and state revenues. He suggested that transparency be carried out in the management of the company as well as stricter supervision from upstream to downstream in order to prevent the recurrence of data manipulation practices in the future.
"This case is a serious spotlight considering the magnitude of state losses incurred and its implications for public trust in Pertamina. Comprehensive preventive measures and handling are expected to restore the company's integrity and prevent a repeat of similar scandals in the future," he concluded.
