Police Ban Sahur On The Road In Bandung Held On The Streets

JAKARTA - Bandung Police prohibits sahur on the road activities from being carried out on the streets. He emphasized that the activity was carried out with the aim of worship.

Bandung Police Chief, Kombes Pol Budi Sartono stated that his party had discussed with the Bandung City Government and was committed to ensuring that sahur on the road was only carried out in places of worship such as mosques.

"So it's not allowed to go on the streets. Even though they (the community) really want to sahur on the road, please but at places of worship," Budi said in Bandung, Wednesday, February 26, which was confiscated by Antara.

Budi said that ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, his party began to tighten security, especially at points prone to criminal acts.

This step aims to maintain regional conduciveness and provide a sense of security for people who fast.

"We instruct the police to patrol intensively to maintain conduciveness in the Bandung area. We will continue to coordinate with various parties through Forkopimda so that when fasting can run safely and conducively," he said.

He added that criminal acts, especially those involving motorized groups, often occur at night until early morning.

Therefore, he said, the police will increase patrols and require all personnel in charge to turn on the rotator lights while patrolling.

"We have ordered and there has been a warrant to always turn on the rotator lights of patrol cars to provide a sense of security and comfort for the community," said Budi.

Budi hopes that with tighter security, people can fast in peace and comfort without security disturbances.
