Recidivist Of The Case Of Smuggling Lobster Seeds Worth IDR 1.8 Billion Again Arrested At Soetta Airport

TANGERANG The smuggling of lobster seeds to Singapore was successfully thwarted by the Soekarno Hatta Airport Police. The three perpetrators with the initials M, AS and SP were arrested with evidence of 46 thousand lobster seeds.

According to the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Soekarno Hatta Airport Police, Kompol Yandri Mono, the value of lobster seeds is IDR 1.8 billion.

According to him, the delivery of baby Lobster was masterminded by three perpetrators, one of whom was a recidivist of the same case.

"M was previously arrested in the same case," said Yandri sat confirmed, Wednesday, February 26.

This disclosure began with information regarding the delivery of a lobster seed suitcase to Singapore via Soekarno Hatta Airport Cargo Terminal by M alias B and SP.

Based on this information, the Criminal Investigation Unit carried out checks and investigations. The information turned out to be true and was arrested by M and SP in the area of the Airport Highways marketing office, Jurumudi Village, Benda District, Tangerang City.

Both were arrested while on their way to deliver the Benur to cargo.

From the arrests of the two men, the police confiscated evidence of a gray suitcase containing 30 packs of 46,000 Lobster seeds.

"Baby Lobster is of the type of sand and pearl," he said.

Kompol Yandri said the suspects disguised the lobster clear seeds by packing them in plastic bags that were filled with oxygen and putting them in a suitcase.

Yandri said, in this gang M and SP played a role in sending Lobster seeds. When the package is delivered via cargo, both of them will board a plane to Singapore.

Arriving in Singapore M and SP will take the package and hand over the lobster seeds to someone.

"Their role is only to deliver these lobster seeds to Singapore, when they get there there there are other parties who handle them," he said.

For services as a lobster seed courier, Yandri continued, M and SP received Rp5 million each. The US, which acts as the opening act of the delivery route, gets Rp1 million in wages.

The three suspects M, SP and AS were charged with Article 92 in conjunction with Article 26 paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law and/or Article 88 of Law No. 31 of 2004 concerning Fisheries and/or Article 87 in conjunction with Article 34 of Law No. 21 of 2019 concerning Animal, Fish and Plant Quarantine.

"With the threat of a maximum prison sentence of 8 years and a fine of Rp. 1.5 billion," he said.
