Flash Floods In Afghanistan Killed 21 People From Two Families While PICKnik Climbed The Mountain

JAKARTA - A total of 21 members of two families died in flash floods on Tuesday in the western province of Farah in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan's Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Mateen Qaniee said women and children were among them, and five others were injured.

The families went on a picnic in Kojar village in Pushtkoh district.

Reported by Reuters on Tuesday, February 25, they were climbing the mountain when heavy rains and icestorms hit them.

Flash floods killed 315 people and injured more than 1,600 people in northern Afghanistan last year.
