Mark Gurman: Apple Confirms Folding IPhone Will Be Coming In 2026

According to a recent report from well-known Apple analyst Mark Gurman in the Power On bulletin, Apple's first foldable iPhone will be launched in 2026 along with its revolutionary new iPhone design.

Rumors about the folding iPhone have been circulating for years, especially since Samsung introduced its first foldable phone. However, Apple seems to continue to delay its launch, allegedly because it wants to ensure optimal user technology and experience before entering the foldable phone market.

Now, recent reports suggest that the foldable iPhone is nearing its final stages of development. This means that Apple is likely to shift to the mass production stage in the near future.

According to leaked specifications, this foldable iPhone will have an external screen measuring 5.49 inches much smaller than its competitors. However, the foldable screen inside will measure 7.74 inches, providing a fairly comfortable wide screen experience.

In addition to the folding iPhone, Apple is also reportedly preparing a new design for the upcoming iPhone 17 line.

Based on the latest information leaks, the standard iPhone 17 will retain a similar design to the previous generation. However, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models will get a fully new camera module.

Apple is also rumored to be introducing a new model called the iPhone 17 Air, which comes with a slimmer and lighter design.

However, even more surprising, Gurman reports that Apple is developing another new iPhone design for 2026. "Apple is preparing a thinner iPhone for this year and is focused on completing its first foldable device development for 2026. There is also another new iPhone design being worked on for the same year," Gurman said, quoted by VOI from Reuters.

If this news is true, then this will be the first time Apple has brought major design changes in a row. Usually, Apple only introduces major design changes once every few years, while generation-to-generation designs only experience minor changes.
