Sonic/panic Jakarta Concert Voices The Urgency Of Environmental Protection Through Music

JAKARTA - The combination of music and action in dealing with environmental crises is displayed through the Sonic/panic Jakarta performance which was completed at M Bloc Space, South Jakarta on Saturday, February 22 last week.

This concert is a collaboration between IKLIM (The Indonesian Climate Communications, Arts & Music Lab) and M Bloc Entertainment, with the aim of amplifying environmental protection urgency in the midst of rampant policies that do not side with sustainability.

With the title Hutan Punah, Kota Musnah, the ranks of musicians such as the Effect of the House of Glass ft. Adrian Yunan, Bara Suara, Endah N Rhesa, Voice of Baceprot, Navicula, REP & Tutantigabelas, Matter Mos, Petra Sihombing, Made Mawut, and Bachoxs appeared in the presence of 500 spectators.

This music stage is a forum for musicians to voice their concerns about the socio-political situation that is being discussed in Indonesia. In the midst of increasingly real restrictions on freedom of expression, many musicians use their songs as a form of resistance and solidarity with various issues faced by the public.

A dynamic collaboration was presented, with cross-genre meetings in various special moments on stage. The Greenhouse Effect appears with his former personnel, Adrian Yunan. In addition, there is also collaboration with Robi Navicula, Iga Massardi, Petra Sihombing, Endah Widiastuti, Petra Sihombing, Matter Mos, to Teddy Adhitya.

Speaking of his involvement in this concert, Iga Massardi from Bara Suara who was involved in the first edition of the sonic/panic album, revealed a different feeling, which made him more motivated to discuss more real and solid ground states.

"This also affects my latest album. Artistally, I want to convey a message, but from a humane point of view, I increasingly realize that every thing we consume and use everyday has an impact. This awareness makes me more careful and wise in choosing the products I use," said Iga.

In addition to being a space to discuss the urgency of environmental protection, sonic/panic Jakarta is also trying to present more sustainable practices in its implementation.

This effort confirms that the music industry can take concrete steps to be more environmentally friendly, as well as inspire a music ecosystem that is more aware of its impact on the earth.
