Truck Falls Into River In Pelalawan: 14 Dead Victims Found, 1 Person Still Missing
The joint SAR team has found 14 victims killed in a cold diesel truck crash that fell into the Segati River, Pelalawan Regency, Riau. Currently, the search is still ongoing for one missing victim.
The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Pol. Anom Karabianto, said that the total number of victims of this accident was 15 people, consisting of nine children and six adults.
"The total number of victims who have been found is 14 people, all of whom are dead. One more victim, on behalf of Arman Mandrefa, is still being searched," said Anom, Monday, February 25.
The truck incident plunged into the river in Pelalawan on Saturday, February 22, when the diesel cold truck was carrying 32 passengers to Segati Village. On the way, the truck suddenly plunged into the river.
Based on preliminary data on the incident of the truck plunging into the river in Pelalawan, the total number of passengers reached 32 people, the survivors 17, died 14, and one victim was declared missing.
Anom explained, on the first day, three victims were found dead and 17 people survived. On the second day, one victim died, followed by two other victims the following day.
"Today, eight victims were found dead again," Anom explained.

The joint SAR team, consisting of BPBD, Polairud, TNI, and Pelawan Regency Government, continues to search for victims who are still missing. "We combed the river up to 15 kilometers from the scene, used rubber boats and dived," he added.
The search will continue until all the victims of the truck accident into the river in Pelalawan have been found.
