Threatened And Threatened To Be Boycotted, Reebok Asked To Resign As Sponsor Of The Israeli National Team
JAKARTA - The BDS Movement has always recorded global brands affiliated with Israel. Most recently, the British sports brand Reebok was in the spotlight for reportedly signing a contract with the Israeli Football Association (IFA), and the Reebok logo has been on the official IFA website.
This immediately made Reebok draw criticism and threat to boycott by the public because it supports Israel. This Reaction to Reebok's cooperation with IFA was given by Palestinian activists and support groups.
Quoted from the BDS Movement, this cooperation is considered to put Reebok at risk of being involved in war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel. Especially regarding the genocide that is taking place in Gaza, Palestine.
The BDS Movement emphasized that IFA has direct involvement in Israel's apartheid policies and military occupation. The organization highlighted several teams that are members of the official IF league based on Israeli illegal settlements on Palestinian soil, which violate international law.
Therefore, Reebok is asked to immediately withdraw its support for IFA. Otherwise, the brand will be threatened with boycotts, such as other brands that have been affiliated with Israel.

If Reebok calls for this criminal and unethical sponsor, the company will face international boycott campaigns such as Errea, PUMA, and Adidas' previous statements.
Prior to Reebok, Italian sports clothing company Errea signed a two-year contract with IFA in August 2024. However, after facing pressure from various parties including the Boycott, divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, Errea finally withdrew from the contract.
Errea's decision to withdraw from cooperation with IFA follows the steps of two previous major brands, namely Adidas and PUMA. Adidas did not extend his contract in 2018, while PUMA announced its sponsorship of IFA in 2023, after facing a global boycott campaign for five years working together.
