Indonesia Wins Four Titles From SIC 2025

JAKARTA The Indonesian badminton team successfully won four titles and two runner-up positions from the Singapore International Challenge (SIC) 2025 event.

Indonesia is very dominant by placing six representatives in the final on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Two representatives in the men's singles to create all Indonesian finals and four other representatives spread across all sectors.

The final was opened with the victory of Bobby Setiabudi/Melati Daeva Oktavianti in mixed doubles. Bobby/Melati won over the Horbanleukit/Fungfa Korpthammakit Phuwanat from Thailand with a score of 21-19 and 21-16.

Continuing to the women's singles sector, Ruzana, who was the seventh seed, managed to lock up the title after defeating fourth seeded India representatives Unnati Hooda with a score of 21-17 and 21-16.

The failure was then experienced by women's doubles Siti Sarah Azzahra/Agnia Sri Rahayu. This pair had to settle for leaving as runners-up after losing versus Jang Eun-seo/Lee Seo-jin from South Korea with a score of 17-21, 21-15, and 14-21.

Indonesia's third title was secured by the men's singles Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah. He won his first title in 2025 after winning the match between Indonesia and Praddisda Bagas Shujiwo.

"Even though I am a champion, I still have to improve physically and mentally in the match. I have to be bolder on the field," Ubaidillah said after the match as accepted in the statement.

The Indonesian title party was finally closed by debutant Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin from the men's doubles sector. The pair beat host representative Eng Keat Wesley Koh/Junsuke Kubo three games, 21-18, 18-21, and 22-20.

"Praise God we were given the smoothness of this match. We really didn't expect to win in our first tournament in pairs," said Joaquin.
