OpenAI Launches AI Operator Agent For ChatGPT Pro Customers In Several Countries

JAKARTA - OpenAI has launched its artificial intelligence (AI) agent, Operator, to ChatGPT Pro customers in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and many countries.

"Operators are now launching it for Pro users in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, England, and most of the places ChatGPT is available," the company wrote in its announcement on X.

OpenAI's AI agent, which was originally launched in the US in January, is claimed to be able to perform tasks automatically on user instructions, such as booking tickets, making restaurant reservations, submitting expenses reports, or shopping on e-commerce websites.

Operators are currently only available to customers with ChatGPT Pro packages for $200 or around IDR 3.2 million per month. You can also only use it through a special web page.

Operators are now rolling out to Pro users in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and most places ChatGPT is available.

However, the company has stated that it plans to provide Operators with all ChatGPT clients.

They also said they would bring Operators to most places where ChatGPT is available, in addition to the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland.

"Still working to make Operators available in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein & Iceland - we will continue to provide you with the latest information," the post continued.

OpenAI said the Operators are supported by a Computer-Using Agent, or CUA model, which combines their GPT-4o model capabilities with the reasoning capabilities of the more advanced OpenAI model.

The company has also collaborated with companies such as DoorDash, eBay, Instacart, Priceline, StubHub, and Uber to ensure that Operators respect this business service provision agreement.
