Zaskia Putri, Karateka Binaan PPLP Gorontalo Wins WKF Youth League In UAE
JAKARTA - The athletes fostered by the Student Sports Education and Training Center (PPLP) of Gorontalo Province, Zaskia Putri Channelte, won the World Karate Federation Youth League world title in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.
Zaskia is a 15-year-old student of SMA Negeri 6 Gorontalo City, winning a gold medal in the women's category after defeating other karateka from Iran, Italy and Canada.
The proud news was also welcomed by the Governor of Gorontalo Gusnar Ismail. From the Military Academy where the regional head's retreat was carried out, he expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Zaskia.
"Alhamdulillah, our PPLP fostered athletes won gold. Proud achievements are not only for Gorontalo but also for Indonesia. Congratulations and appreciation from me on behalf of the government and the people of Gorontalo," said Gusnar, Sunday.
Gusnar hopes that in the future PPLP will continue to be strengthened as a forum for fostering young athletes. In addition to the karate branch, outstanding soccer athletes were born from the student coaching center.
"God willing, in the future we will strengthen again so that these young athletes will be better and achieve," he added.

Zaskia Putri Channele was born September 29, 2009. Since being recruited by PPLP in 2021, she has made achievements at the national and international levels. He three times in a row (in 2021 2023 2024) won gold medals in the National Championship between PPLP/PPLPD and SKO organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Zaskia also won the 2023 Student Sports Week (POPNAS) bronze medal in Palembang, the 2024 PB FORKI Ketum Cup Karanas gold medal in Banten, the National Police Chief's Cup Gold medal in Malang in 2024.
At the International Championship, namely the gold medal at the Southeast Asian Karate Championship (SEAKAF) in Thailand in 2024, the bronze medal for the 2024 Asian Karate Championships in Philipina, the bronze medal for the JKS Karate World Championships in Japan in 2024 and the 5th place in the WKF Karate World Championships in Italy in 2024.
