Instructions Not To Participate In Megawati's Way Of Cadre Loyalty Test
JAKARTA UIN political observer Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Zaki Mubarak, believes that Megawati Soekarnoputri's instructions for regional heads from the PDI-P not to take part in the retreat are one way to test the loyalty of party cadres.
The instructions contained in letter number 7294/IN/DPP/II/2025 were issued Thursday, February 20, 2025, or shortly after PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission in the bribery case of PAW Harun Masiku.
"So, (the instruction) is a kind of political protection effort to maintain the solidity of the party. Megawati needs to check the waves with the warrant to find out who the cadres who serve as regional heads are, who are still loyal or not," said Zaki, Sunday, February 23, 2025.
According to him, Mega is currently alerting internal parties through these instructions. Moreover, there are rumors that Mega's leadership will be shaken through legal cases involving other PDIP cadres, including Puan Maharani.
PDIP's Elite-elite has been reading the scenario for a long time and appointing Jokowi or his political proxy as the actor behind the scenes. In essence, Jokowi wants to take over PDIP's leadership through legal instruments by borrowing KPK's hand," said Zaki.

Therefore, it is possible that the PDIP DPP under Megawati imposed sanctions on several regional heads from PDIP who were confirmed to be present at the retreat, such as the Regent of Sukoharjo Etik Suryani, Kendal Regent Dyah Kartika Permatasari, and Cirebon Regent Imron.
"There could be sanctions because they are considered to have violated the party's instructions. It's just a matter of waiting for further considerations or policies from Mega," said Zaki.
