Disney Themed Shinkansen Train Starts Operation On The Tokyo-Osaka Line
JAKARTA - The Disney-themed bullet train began operating on the Tokaido Shinkansen line linking Tokyo to Osaka, Japan this week.
Nicknamed "Wanderful Dreams Shinkansen", the train with 16 carriages that started operating on February 21 is decorated with characters like Fragunzel from the film "Tangled," Elsa and Anna from "Frozen" and Peter Pan, quoted from Nippon TV February 23.
Train and Disney fans gathered at the central Japanese Nagoya Station in the morning to get a glimpse of the train's first journey.
Quoting Kyodo News, this train service is inspired by the Tokyo "Fantasy Springs" area of DisneySea which opened in June 2024. The melodi on the train will be in the form of a song from Disney film "Tangled."
Meanwhile, the inside of the train will be decorated with a specially designed seat backing cover and other features.
JR Central said in a statement that this marks the first time Shinkansen Tokaido has worn a special design across his carriages since starting operations 60 years ago.
Central Japan Railway said about 80 percent of the seats ordered on the first Disney train had been sold out.
