JAKARTA - A man was found dead after drowning in the East Flood Canal (BKT), Pondok Bambu Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta.

It was later discovered that the victim was Chandra Kurniawan (24). The victim was registered as a resident of Swadaya 8 Street, Duren Sawit Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta.

"The handling object is a drowning person. The search was carried out by 1 unit totaling 4 people," said Head of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Abdul Wahid when confirmed, Sunday, February 23.

According to witness testimony to Gulkarmat officers, the incident began when the victim was sitting on the BKT embankment with his friends while eating food.

"Suddenly the victim slipped and fell into the BKT river. The victim managed to climb to the mainland, but suddenly the victim jumped back into the BKT river train and finally drowned by the water current," he said.

After a search was carried out, the victim was finally found 100 meters from the location where the missing victim drowned but was dead.

The process of evacuating victims was carried out by East Jakarta Gulkarmat officers. The victim's body was taken to the funeral home.
