Erick Affirms 70 Percent Of PSSI Financing Comes From The Private Sector

JAKARTA - PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir emphasized that around 70 percent of the financing for football federations he leads comes from the private sector.

This was conveyed by Erick when asked for his response regarding the budget efficiency implemented by the government led by President Prabowo Subianto.

"We at PSSI really tried hard to build funding from the private sector. Today I just signed with VinFast. Yes, that's quite a bit of money. Yes, almost 70% of our programs are financed from the private sector," Erick said at a press conference at the GBK Arena, Jakarta, Saturday.

Erick then explained that PSSI's income came from fans, such as sales of jerseys, tickets, broadcasting rights, and sponsors. However, there is a commitment from the Indonesian government to FIFA.

FIFA wants to see its commitment, and even FIFA for the office here. There are already 12 fifa events. FIFA spent up to two million dollars on these events. Even FIFA also poured 5.5 million (dollars) in fifa forward funds," said Erick.

"So yes, FIFA's seriousness must be met by our seriousness in PSSI for funding and I think the government," he continued.

He explained that currently his party still received assistance from the government, but the PSSI did not stand idly by and only waited for the government to disburse money

"And I don't think this funding commitment is grandiose. From the first time I served at that time our agreement with the government at that time was nyaman, where 250 (millary) from the government, 250 (millary) from us. But thank God in the first year 120 from the government, from us it reached 250 billion, "he said

"Well, this year with a budget of 650 billion, the government of 220 (million), yes we have to look for 400. So I don't think I want to discriminate but we work hard," concluded the figure who had also been the owner of Inter Milan.
