TNI-Polri Hold Joint Apples Ahead Of The Constitutional Court's Decision On The Mimika Regional Head Election Dispute

TIMIKA - Personnel from Kodim 1710/Mimika together with the TNI-Polri held a Joint Forces Apple to anticipate potential security disturbances ahead of the Constitutional Court (MK) decision regarding the dispute over the Mimika Regency Pilkada.

This apple took place at the Youware Emeneme Building Courtyard, Jalan Budi Utomo, Timika Indah Village, Mimika Baru District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua, on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Dandim 1710/Mimika, Lt. Col. Inf. M. Slamet Wijaya, emphasized that this apple aims to ensure security conditions remain conducive in the midst of dynamic situations. After the apple, the troops will carry out patrols and sweeps until post-mask decisions, in order to ensure the situation remains safe.

"Before the election dispute decision, maintaining security stability is a shared responsibility. Not only law enforcement officers, but all elements of society and stakeholders must play an active role. We urge the public not to be provoked and to maintain order," said the Dandim.

He also appreciated the synergy between the TNI and Polri in maintaining regional security. According to him, the troop rally that was attended by patrols and sweeping was a form of special attention to security and public order (Kamtibmas) ahead of the Constitutional Court's decision.

The Dandim emphasized that the security forces had taken preventive measures so that security disturbances did not occur after the Constitutional Court's decision. He also reminded that political differences are normal in democracy and guaranteed by the constitution, so they should not be a trigger for division in society.

"Differences in choice should not damage unity. Let's keep Mimika peaceful and harmonious," he concluded.
