The Deputy Governor Of DKI Elected Has A Plan To Handle COVID-19, But Does Not Want To Be Disclosed To The Public
JAKARTA - The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta has now been found. Gerindra Party politician, Riza Patria has been elected by the DPRD in a limited election some time ago. Riza comes at a tough time, when Jakarta is struggling with COVID-19. What can he do for the people of Jakarta and for Anies in particular.
This afternoon, we contacted Riza, asking about the readiness and plans she has prepared to take on the role of the deputy governor chair. Riza admits that she has designed a work pattern that she will do when she officially becomes the number 2 person in DKI, especially regarding the handling of COVID-19 because this is the government's priority.
However, Riza was not willing to answer when we asked her to explain in detail the plans and strategies she meant. Said Riza, he couldn't possibly convey his thoughts to the public.
"It's impossible for me to convey it to the public, yes. After being inaugurated, there will be coordination in handling COVID-19 with the Governor," said Riza.
One thing underlined by Riza is that the proposal for handling COVID-19 to Anies cannot possibly overlap the policies that have been made. "The deputy governor's job is of course to help the governor according to the provisions. Later I will report Mr. Anies to ask for directions, in addition to the existing duties," he said.
Waiting for the inauguration
Riza himself is currently in the position of waiting for the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) to follow up on the inauguration process for his position inauguration. He does not know exactly when the inauguration will take place.
What is clear, Riza admitted that he understands, the central government is currently still taking into account the inauguration process. He realized that the country was focused on facing the COVID-19 pandemic. And for him personally, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) must prioritize the prevention of transmission of the corona virus.
Times are tough, indeed. For Jakarta itself, the Capital City is currently in a position to prepare to implement Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) which will take effect tomorrow, Friday, April 10. That means, all existing activities must comply with the recommendations of social distancing and physical distancing.
"We are waiting, whether later the inauguration will wait for the completion of the PSBB, or will it continue to be carried out during the PSBB atmosphere but still refers to the COVID-19 health protocol, such as there are restrictions and maintaining distance," said Riza.
For information, Riza won the election for Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta by a landslide. The position of coalition and opposition of political parties at the central (national) level plays a big role in the results of the election results for DKI Deputy Governor.
Of the hundred votes of DPRD members who voted, two were invalid votes. The 81 votes voted for Gerindra politicians. Meanwhile, Riza's opponent, Nurmansjah Lubis from PKS, only got 17 votes.
