Former Member Of The Indramayu DPRD Victims Of TIP Successfully Returned From Myanmar
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Social Affairs managed to repatriate former member of the Indramayu DPRD for the 2014-2019 period Robi'in.
Robi'in is one of 46 illegal migrant workers who are victims of a criminal act of trafficking in persons (TPPO) in Myawaddy, Myanmar. They arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Indonesia, Friday (21/2/2025) early in the morning.
Robi'in was greeted hysterically by his family and relatives who were waiting for him at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
"Mama's prayers were granted," said Robi after being greeted by his father.
In Myanmar, Robi 'in' was forced to become an online gambling fraudster. This is not in accordance with the job vacancies advertisements he sees on social media.
Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yudha Nugraha, said that apart from Robi'in, 45 other Indonesian citizens were also sent home from Myanmar.
"Yes, we can confirm that one of the 46 are Indonesian citizens with the initials R, a former member of the Indramayu DPRD," Yudha said when met at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
Therefore, Yudha appealed to the public not to be easily deceived by job vacancies that promise a large salary without special qualifications.
"Therefore, we strongly urge the public not to be easily lulled or deceived from job vacancies abroad, which promise high salaries but do not ask for special qualifications, not to go equipped with work visas, to leave without being provided with a work contract and finally having problems abroad," said Yudha.
In line with Yudha, P2MI Director General of Protection Rinardi said their repatriation was a lesson for the public not to be easily tempted by the lure of high salaries.
"This should be a lesson in the future. That people are not easily deceived by any lure, especially now that seductions are rampant through social media, which seems to give promises to work easily without documents without complete requirements or even without competence," said Rinardi at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
Rinardi asked the public to be careful regarding the lure of work abroad. Because, according to Rinardi, they could become victims of the crime of trafficking in persons (TPPO).

They can go abroad and get a big salary. In fact, they later became the object of the target of trafficking in persons. So this is what we want to convey to the community," said Rinardi.
