Facilitate Investigation, 8 Bangladeshi Citizens Who Violated The Law In Kupang Were Transferred To Immigration

The East Nusa Tenggara Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim Kupang) moved eight foreigners from Bangladesh to the TPI Atambua Immigration Office, Belu Regency, to undergo further investigation.

"The transfer of eight detainees who will be placed in the Atambua Immigration Detention Room aims to facilitate investigation and coordination with the Atambua District Attorney," said Head of the Kupang Rudenim Security and Order Section Melsy Fanggi in a statement received in Kupang, Antara, Friday, February 21.

He said the transfer of eight detainees (foreign residents who were detained for violating the law) was carried out based on the Plt Order. Head of the Kupang Rudenim Number: WIM.22.03.08.222 to 229 dated February 20, 2025.

"Kupang Rudenim security officers removed the detainees from the cell block to the lobby of the Rudenim to hand over the detaineeidos who would then be escorted by Atambua Immigration escort officers to Belu Regency," explained Melsy.

The transfer process was led by Andri Yanto, Head of Substance for Stay Permits and Immigration, accompanied by four staff from the Atambua Immigration Office.

On the same occasion, Plt. Head of the Kupang Rudenim, Cun Sudiharto, ensured that the entire process of moving eight detainees went smoothly and safely.

"The transfer process is carried out carefully and pays attention to the security aspect, both for detainees and officers involved. Strict escort is carried out during the trip to ensure smoothness and avoid potential risks," he explained.
