Airlangga Calls The US-China Trade War Not Disturbing Indonesia's Trade
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that the trade war that occurred between the United States (US) and China has not currently disrupted Indonesia's trade.
Even so, Airlangga said the Indonesian government continues to monitor developments in the world's economic issues that are currently happening.
"So if we look at the existing developments, this trend problem has not been disrupted until now," he said at the Office of the Ministry of Trade, Jakarta, Thursday, February 20.
Regarding the threat of applying 100 percent tariffs to BRICS countries by US President Donald Trump, according to Airlangga, it does not apply to Indonesia.
Airlangga said that currently Indonesia is still subject to a tariff of 10 to 20 percent because it does not yet have a trade agreement with the US.
"Indonesia is now with Europe or with Amarika, it does not get tariff prevalence. So, we still get 10 to 20 percent because there is no trade agreement, so we are expected to be optimistic about our trade," he said.
