BI Will Purchase SBN Support The Construction Of 3 Million Houses
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) will support housing program funding through purchasing Government Securities (SBN) from the secondary market.
This was conveyed, BI Governor Perry Warjiyo after a meeting with the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Dony Oskaria, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Chairman of Commission XI DPR Mukhamad Misbakhun.
"We have spoken with the Minister of Finance, whose funds can be used not only for debt switching for SBN which is due from ex-covid, but also for funding housing programs, other programs in Asta asya related to downstreaming as well as for food security as well as for other programs," Perry said at a press conference, Thursday, February 20.
Perry conveyed this indicating BI's high commitment to supporting the success of asta ideal programs, both through policies and funding.
In addition, Perry said that he would fully support the programs in the government's aspirations, one of which was the construction of 3 million houses for low-income people (MBR).

"We believe these ideal programs can support high economic growth, create jobs and people's welfare, that's number one," he said.
As for the next support, Perry explained that related to funding, namely that he would provide incentives in the form of liquidity to banks that channel credit to priority sectors, namely the addition of liquidity incentives for banks of up to Rp80 trillion.
