GR Yaris Facelift Comes With Manual & Automated Transmission, Which One Is More Interested? This Is What TAM Said!

PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) has officially introduced GR Yaris facelift for the Indonesian market in the middle of last year. This hot hatch has several changes in order to increase driving pleasure.

Not only that, the car is also offered with an automatic transmission option for the first time and is side by side with conventional manual transmission.

Marketing Director of PT TAM, Anton Jimmi Suwandi said the interest between manual and automatic transmission is quite balanced in Indonesia because some customers have their own needs.

"Currently it's still a draw between manual and automatic demand. GR is identical to manual, but there are some consumers who want it automatic. So this gives consumers choices," said Anton during a media discussion at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 20.

Anton added that the automatic transmission animo is quite positive because it already has the same performance as the three- pedal variant.

"But the automatic transmission option is quite positive because it has a faster response than manual," added Anton.

This one car has an exterior display that is updated with the lower front or bumper having a new structure that is more sporty than before. Lower side lattices are now equipped with larger openings to ensure cooling performance.

Changes are also clearly visible on the back with the bottom being redesigned, to optimize aerodynamics and exhaust disposal.

Not only appearing with a newer change than before, this car is claimed to have better performance with an automatic transmission of eight accelerations developed and combined with four-wheel drive (4WD).

Although the manufacturer maintains a 1.6 liter turbo engine as before, GR Yaris facelift has an enhanced power from 272 ps to 304 ps and torques from 370 Nm to 400 Nm, thus increasing the excitement of driving.

Toyota GR Yaris facelift has prices ranging from IDR 1.166 billion for manual options and IDR 1.214 billion for automata.
