5.2 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Banda Aceh, Feels Pidie

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 rocked Banda Aceh, Thursday, February 20 at 10.19 WIB.

According to the BMKG, the location of the earthquake was at coordinates 4.92 degrees south latitude and 94.63 degrees east longitude.

The Banda Aceh epicenter was on land about 103 kilometers southwest of Banda Aceh with a depth of 10 kilometers.

"There is no potential for a tsunami. Be careful of possible aftershocks," wrote BMKG on its official website.

The Aceh earthquake was felt in Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar, Aceh Jaya, and Pidie. There have been no reports of damage reported due to the earthquake in Banda Aceh.
