So that it can support all policies that have been set by President Prabowo.
It is known, after being inaugurated by President Prabowo at the State Palace on Thursday, February 20, today, regional heads will take part in an eight-day retreat, from February 21 to 28, 2025 in the Tidar Valley, Military Academy (Akmil), Magelang, Central Java.
As many as 505 regional heads as a result of the 2024 Pilkada who have no lawsuit or completion of the PHPU dispute lawsuit at the Constitutional Court will take part in the treatment in Magelang. They will obtain material delivered directly by 42 ministers of the Red and White Cabinet regarding Asta Cita which is the vision and mission of President Prabowo Subianto's government.
"With this retreat, regional heads are expected to understand Asta Cita and President Prabowo's vision and mission, so that they support all government policies and programs," said Mohammad Toha, Thursday, February 20.
Toha said that the retret of regional heads was not specifically regulated in Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government. However, according to him, this law regulates the authority of regional heads in managing regional governments, including in terms of regional financial management.
"Retrets of regional heads can be interpreted as activities related to capacity development and increasing the performance of regional heads," explained Toha.
According to Toha, retreats are very useful for helping regional heads to build performance in their respective regions. Such as improving performance, managing government, improving cooperation, developing action strategies and plans, improving the quality of public services and meeting the needs of the community, developing innovations and creative solutions.
"Every regional head does have the RPJMD according to the promise of the political campaign of their respective regional heads, but the central government has the authority to regulate and supervise the implementation of local governments. Moreover, there is an obligation of the central government to provide assistance funds to local governments," said the PKB legislator from the Central Java V electoral district.
Toha assessed that the retreat initiated by President Prabowo was very visionary in relation to the role of the central government towards local governments. In terms of improving service quality, supervision and capacity development.
"The retreat of regional heads shows the seriousness of President Prabowo in running the government in accordance with laws that prioritize improving people's welfare in accordance with the Asta Cita Program," said Toha.
