2 Days Lost, Pandeglang Residents Found Dead In Wells

Saadiah (54) was found dead in a well not far from her house in Kadu Langgong Village, Cipicung Village, Cikedal District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, after being reported missing for two days.

Head of the Banten Basarnas Alert and Operations Subsection Risky Dwianto said based on family information, the victim was declared missing on Monday (17/2) and the family had already searched for the victim's whereabouts but had not been found.

"As of this afternoon, the victim was found by local residents who were going to collect water at the well at around 14:25 WIB in a prone position inside the well," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 19.

Residents who knew about the incident immediately reported it to the police and Banten Basarnas for immediate evacuation.

The process of evacuating victims took quite a long time because the position of the well was quite narrow, with a depth of up to 15 meters, equipped with CSR equipment (Confined Space Rescue), the lifting and lowring system managed to lift the victim from the well at around 18:37 WIB and was immediately handed over to the family.

"The team managed to evacuate the victim at 18.37 WIB in a state of death, then the victim was immediately taken to the funeral home," he said.
