Aston Villa Vs Man City: 10 On 10 Matches That Ended With The Citizens' 2-1 Victory
JAKARTA - Manchester City beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the 32nd Premier League match which ended with a 10 against 10 situation at Villa Park Stadium, Birmingham, Wednesday local time (Thursday western Indonesia time).
Villa immediately took the lead after the game had only been running for 20 seconds through Tyrone Mings' long cross which Ollie Watkins could continue to become a bait that was completed by John McGinn to the City goal.
Despite being conceded quickly, City quickly came back to their feet and came close to equalizing in the 20th minute if goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez had not made a resounding save on Riyad Mahrez's shot.
Unfortunately, two minutes later Martinez could not move when Phil Foden broke into the penalty box and met Bernardo Silva's attractive ball with a powerful strike that made the score 1-1.
Five minutes before halftime, the former European Super League founding team took the lead through Rodri Hernandez, who jumped high to head the ball to outwit Martinez.
In the 42nd minute, John Stones committed a hard foul on Jacob Ramsey which initially resulted in a yellow card from referee Peter Bankes.
However, after consulting nearly two minutes with VAR and reviewing live replays on the court's edge, Bankes raised his sentence to a red card.
Unfortunately, the 11 against 10 situations lasted until the 57th minute, when Villa defender Matty Cash tackled Foden and was awarded a second yellow card.
With a situation of 10 against 10, City regained control of the game and maintained their 2-1 advantage until dispersal.
