Hasto's Camp Insists On Asking To Postpone Tomorrow's Examination, KPK Chair: May You Obey The Law

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto asked the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto to fulfill the summons of investigators as suspects on Thursday, February 20.

The bribery case for the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR RI and the obstruction of the investigation will not be postponed even though the pretrial lawsuit for the second time has been registered at the South Jakarta District Court (PN).

"Hopefully HK obeys the law," Setyo told reporters in a written statement, Wednesday, February 19.

Meanwhile, regarding the pretrial lawsuit filed by Hasto's camp, Setyo said that the KPK would face it.

"The KPK must respond normatively to the application through the legal bureau," he said.

Complementing Setyo's statement, KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika confirmed that Hasto's examination would not be postponed. The politician will still be examined according to the schedule set by investigators even though he has filed a pretrial lawsuit.

"KPK will continue to carry out the investigation process according to applicable legal rules and procedures. In this case, the second summons as a suspect for Thursday, February 20, 2025," he said.

The legal team of the PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto asked the KPK to postpone the investigation as a suspect on Thursday, February 20. This step was taken because his party had filed a pretrial lawsuit with the South Jakarta District Court for the second time.

"On Friday, the 14th, we officially submitted a pretrial again, two pretrial applications for bribery and on suspicion of obstruction or obstruction of justice, we submitted on February 14, 2025 yesterday through E-Court," said lawyer Hasto and PDIP DPP Chairperson for PDIP Legal Reform Ronny B. Talapessy at the PDIP DPP office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 18.

Ronny said the pretrial lawsuit had been registered with the South Jakarta District Court. "And it needs to be known by media colleagues, all Indonesian people, we also sent a letter of application for the postponement of the examination, basically because we have filed a pretrial," he said.

"But on the same day, it needs to be known to the public. We received a call from KPK investigators for the second summons to re-examine Mas Hasto on Thursday. Therefore, this needs to be known by the public, we deeply regret where on Monday, the 17th, the South Jakarta District Court has announced that pretrial will be carried out, but on the same day, KPK investigators sent a call," said Ronny.
