Had Dipangkas, The Transition Team Promises KJMU Quota To Increase By Up To 20 Thousand Students In Pramono-Doel Leadership
JAKARTA - The head of the Pramono Anung-Rano Karno transition team, Ima Mahdiah, confirmed that the quota for the Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU) will be increased to 20 thousand students in admissions in 2025.
Previously, the quota for KJMU recipients in phase II in 2024 was cut to 15,648 people. Ima emphasized that the quota would be restored, even increasing in Pramono-Rano's leadership.
"We encourage that the recipient quota be returned, especially for those who have denied and proven to meet the requirements," said Ima in his statement, Wednesday, February 19.
It is planned that the quota for KJMU recipients in 2025 will include 15,648 advanced recipient students, as well as 424 students who were previously crossed out in phase II 2024 due to the alleged ownership of a car or asset with an NJOP value of more than IDR 1 billion but have made a rebuttal.
Then, there were 3,928 new students from private universities (PTS) in Jakarta who had B and C accredited.
The deputy chairman of the DKI DPRD emphasized that education is a future investment that should not be ignored. Pramono-Rano, continued Ima, will prioritize policies for the education sector.
"No Jakarta students should be hampered in education just because of cost constraints. We will ensure that this program continues and the quota returns to its original state," he said.
Ima hopes that the cutting of the quota for KJMU recipients that will occur in phase II in 2024 will not happen again. He ensured that this program continued with a more optimal number of recipients.
"We want to ensure that access to education for students from families is not able to be maintained. The reduction of KJMU recipients in 2024 has had an impact on thousands of students who should get their rights," said Ima.
On the one hand, Ima asked the DKI Provincial Government to select KJMU recipients in a transparent and accurate manner. Thus, there are no more students who lose their rights just because of administrative errors or an unfair verification system.

"We want to make sure that the 2025 KJMU registration will run better, with a careful and transparent verification system the verification process will only be carried out once for a study period of 4 years," he added.
