PB ISSI Has Not Been Affected By Budget Efficiency

JAKARTA The Executive Board of the Indonesian Bicycle Sports Association (PB ISSI) has not received official information from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) regarding budget efficiency for the Ministry of Agriculture/Institutions.

Deputy Chairperson of the PB ISSI Daily, Jadi Rajagukguk, said that cooperation with the private sector could be an accurate solution if the sports were also affected by the government's budget efficiency.

"I'm from a sport (sports) that I'm used to getting used to getting around private aid. With this efficiency, we expect sports, of course we on bicycles, to be more active in getting around cooperation with the private sector," he said.

So far, PB ISSI has received an allocation from the Government to the national bicycle team. However, it is not the only flow of money that supports the finances of the sport.

So he said that so far cooperation with the private sector has helped support bicycle sports. He suggested that such cooperation should also be carried out by other sports so that the source of funds is not only from one point.

"So, we don't depend on the budget provided by the Government. We have to try to score sports achievements with all the help of stakeholders in Indonesia," said Jadi.

The efficiency of this budget has made the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo plan to streamline the Indonesian team that will appear at the 2025 SEA Games at the end of the year in Thailand.

So, later the sports that will compete in the biennial event are those who are prioritized to be able to take part in the 2026 Asian Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

"We hope that with this sports choice, we can map which sports will excel not only in the SEA Games, but also in the 2028 Asian Games and Olympics in Los Angeles," said Jadi.

The budget crossover for Ministries/Institutions is carried out to support the priority programs of the government of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka. One of them is free lunch.

However, the program has drawn a lot of controversy. Many parties reject it and advise the Government to change the direction of their program to education and health.
