Ari Lasso Deposits IDR 50 Million Per Month To Ahmad Dhani As Royalty Reward

JAKARTA - Ahmad Dhani, musician and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the All-Indonesian Composters Association (AKSI), stated the importance of suspended feelings between singers and songwriters.

The Dewa 19 frontman gave an example of how important tolerance is through his relationship with Ari Lasso.

Dhani said the former vocalist of Dewa 19 gave him some money every month.

"I'm from Ari Lasso, I've got 50 million a month. That's without WAMI without anyone, just gentlemen agreement," Dhani said at a press conference in Fatmawati, South Jakarta, Monday, February 17.

Meanwhile, the money given is a form of royalty rewards because Ari Lasso is still performing Dewa 19 songs written by Dhani in his performances on various stages.

In addition, Dhani did apply direct license a royalty payment system where singers or performers had to pay royalties directly to creators.

"So, that's roughly the picture. The singer must have a taste," said Dhani.

Meanwhile, the direct license system carried by ACTION is considered to provide a sense of justice for songwriters. That way, both performers and songwriters get financial benefits from a work, to live their lives.

Furthermore, Dhani also mentioned other singers who also paid her royalties via direct license, although it was stated that the payments were inconsistent.

"Raisa is also not bad (royalti uses direct license), but sometimes yes sometimes not," concluded Dhani.
