1,167 Police Guard Student Demonstrations In Semarang Criticize Budget Efficiency

JAKARTA - Students held a protest in front of the Central Java DPRD (Central Java) office in Semarang City, Tuesday 18 February. A total of 1,167 joint personnel were deployed to secure the demonstration.

Semarang Police Chief Kombes Pol. M. Syahduddi emphasized the importance of maintaining a conducive situation during the action.

He also ordered personnel on duty in security to comply with applicable standard operating procedures.

"The personnel on duty must act according to the SOP, remain calm in the face of provocations," said Syahduddi in Semarang, Tuesday, February 18, as quoted by Antara.

He conveyed that the personnel deployed in this security consisted of the Samapta unit and the Semarang Police Mobile Brigade and the Central Java Regional Police.

Meanwhile, the traffic flow around the Central Java DPRD office, he continued, was engineered according to the situation that developed in the field.
