DKI Provincial Government Concerning Restrictions On The Residential Period Of Rusunawa: Not To Expel, But To Make Life More Prosperous
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary (Sekda) Marullah Matali revealed the origin of the plan to limit the occupancy period of simple rented flats (rusunawa) in Jakarta. Marullah emphasized that he did not intend to expel residents from the flats belonging to the DKI Provincial Government.
From the start, the DKI Provincial Government built a flat to facilitate Jakarta residents who do not have a house to be able to live in rental houses with various supporting facilities provided.
"Actually, we know that they are just rentals. In other places they can also rent. But the profit is that the rental flats provided by the provincial government are more economical than those rented in any house," said Marullah at DKI City Hall, Tuesday, February 18.
With the low cost of rusunawa levies due to subsidized APBD, the DKI Provincial Government hopes that the residents of the Rusunawa will have the opportunity to save to buy a house and no longer rent a place to live.
So, when in the next few years, the residents of the flats can leave the flats so that the DKI Provincial Government can again facilitate other Jakarta residents to inhabit the Rusunawa from the units available.
"So it's not to expel the truth. Their essence can feel a more prosperous life like Jakartans who already feel welfare in other places," explained Marullah.
However, Marullah admitted that this plan had not yet been processed into a policy. This is because the DKI Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Areas (DPRKP) are still reviewing the implementation mechanism.
"We think that if it has reached 10 years, there have been a lot of times, times, money. But maybe some have not been collected, it will get an assessment later. If for example they live there for life, live there, then actually we let them inability," he explained.
For information, the DKI Provincial Government plans to limit the occupancy period of the residents of the flats with a general category of 6 years and the residents of the terporgram category are limited to 10 years.
