DKI Provincial Government Says Unemployed Residents Can Trigger Brawls
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Marullah Matali said that one of the triggers for brawls between residents in Jakarta could occur because they are unemployed or do not have permanent daily activities.
This condition is known from the results of searches when the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government enter areas that are often involved in brawls. Mostly, brawls occur because of the poverty condition of residents and it is difficult to find work.
"The background of the brawl residents is usually due to the factor that is quite a lot of unused free time, or in the negative language we can say it as unemployment and fun," said Marullah at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, February 18.
Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government offers jobs to several people who usually become coordinators of brawls. This is done so that they can use useful and effective time.
"Some of the solutions offered to them are how to make those who have a lot of time and are not used, the time is effective, if there is work, find them a job," explained Marullah.
"When the champion is given a job and then has little welfare, the friends who are below him are also given welfare. So, they don't become a brawl," he added.

On that occasion, Marullah emphasized that the brawl was carried out by residents, not because they like to conflict. Apart from the poverty factor, dense residential areas that often occur in brawls have their own problems.
"Although they are not always crowded, they also fight. But some of the certain areas that are congested and there is usually a brawl, what we offer is like that (looking for work)," he concluded.
