Jordanian King Abdullah II Affirms Rejection Against Expulsion Of Palestinians

JAKARTA - Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein on Monday reiterated his rejection of the expulsion of Palestinians.

The statement was made in a meeting with retired military at the Royal Hasemite Court, according to a statement.

"For 25 years, I have said no for evictions, not for re-residential settlements, not for alternative homelands," according to King Abdullah II, condemning " THOSE who question this firm position," as reported by Anadolu on February 18.

Furthermore, King Abdullah II also reiterated "the importance of de-escalation in the West Bank," stressing "achieving fair peace on the basis of a two-state solution is the only way to ensure stability in the region."

The Jordanian king underlined, "maintaining Jordan's interests and stability and protecting Jordan and Jordanians is a major consideration," stressing the importance of rebuilding Gaza "without displacing Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank."

Earlier, United States President Trump at hosting King Abdullah II at the White House last week reiterated his insistence that the citizens of the Gaza Strip, Palestine be relocated and the enclave will be controlled by the US to be re-developed into a tourist area.

Apart from Jordan, President Trump also asked Egypt and Arab countries to accept the relocation of Gazans. Like Jordan, Egypt and other Arab countries also rejected the idea.
