Performance Decreases, Rizky Ridho Gives Up On Summoning The Indonesian National Team
JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta defender Rizky Ridho admitted that his performance when defending the team against Persib Bandung was not optimal.
In fact, he is also aware that recently the new coach of the Indonesian national team, Patrick Kluivert, has been aggressively carrying out safaris to monitor the players who will be withdrawn to the Garuda Squad.
Even so, Ridho did not want to give up about the opportunity to defend the Indonesian national team. Currently he is only trying to focus on improving himself.
The problem is, for the decision to be part of the Garuda Squad, it is left entirely to Kluiver.
"All the players hope to be summoned to the Indonesian national team and I also hope. However, all decisions are in the coach of Kluivert," said Rizky Ridho after defending Persija against Persib, quoted Monday, February 17, 2025.
"When I didn't perform optimally when he watched, I left everything to him. I just believed in his decision," he said.
Ridho's performance with Persija was highlighted after the Kemayoran Tigers were only able to close the match with a 2-2 draw against PSBS Biak and lost 1-2 to Dewa United in Liga 1 2024/2025. In fact, in both matches, Patrick Kluiver was present in person.

Even though he had won 2-0, Rizky Ridho and his colleagues conceded twice and the match ended 2-2. Responding to the failure, Rizky Ridho believed he and Persija would rise.
"We have experienced this phase in the first round and we can rise. So, I'm sure we can bounce back," said Rizky Ridho.
Apart from that, the Indonesian national team is currently struggling in Group C of the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone.
They will resume their struggle against Australia on March 20, 2025 and continue to host Bahrain five days later.
