Requirements For Entering The Forbes 30 Under 30 List Such As Maudy Ayunda, Jerome Polin And Others

JAKARTA - The names of Indonesian youth are included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2021 list. These include Singers, Maudy Ayunda, YouTuber, Jerome Polin Sijabat, to Athletes, Lalu Muhammad Zohri. The question is how can they be selected into the list of prestigious awards?

Forbes assessed that the young people on the list have succeeded in developing their businesses and adapting to the changes caused by the pandemic. In fact, some of them started businesses in the midst of a crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But it's not just entrepreneurs who are on the list, but leaders who have a big impact on the environment and innovators.

This year, there are 11 categories from the list of young people who entered the award. Among others, The Arts, Entertainment and Sports, Finance and Capital Venture, Media, Marketing and Advertising, Retail and E-Commerce, Enterprise Technology, Industry, Manufacturing and Energy, Healthcare and Science, Social Impact, and Consumer Technology.

Under 30 entry requirements

It has been 11 years Forbes has been looking for the best and most daring young leaders, creators and thinkers to join the Under 30 community. Various professions ranging from founder, funder, philanthropist, food activist, filmmaker, fashionista are all included in the nominations.

"Every year we screen tens of thousands of nominations. The list is then re-curated by more than 50 reporters," wrote Forbes.

There are at least three ways how someone can be nominated for Forbes 30 Under 30. First by registering yourself. Second, it is recommended by alumni who have been on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and the third Forbes finds its own nominations.

After being registered as a nominee, the data will be processed by Forbes reporters. They will review their self-registered applications as well as those recommended by the alumni of the Under 30 community.

If the reporters liked the nomination, then they would contact that person. After that, the list is re-selected and given to the jury called the A-list.

Assessment

This year, the number of nominees is more than 2,500 people. They were then evaluated by Forbes reporters and editors with a holistic approach.

As reported by the Forbes page, there are several metrics that are assessed, starting from the amount of funding, income, number of partnerships, and strong impact. However, none of these metrics are seeded. Everything is judged holistically.

"Do your best to optimize all the attributes. The most impressive ones that put forward the best candidates," wrote.

From 2,500 participants, there will be 300 people. Consideration of the criteria such as demonstration of leadership, impact, potential for success and the embodiment of an entrepreneurial spirit that is synonymous with Forbes. Other factors such as innovation, disruption, and company growth play a role in making the final decision.

Then at the final stage the judges of the A-list were decisive. As is known, the judges for this year include Rakuten CEO Mickey Mikitani, HCL Corporation CEO, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Sinovation Ventures CEO, Kaifu Lee, and many more.
