The Indonesian Ministry Of Manpower Encourages Applicators To Provide THR For Ojol Drivers
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan encourages online transportation applicators to provide holiday allowances (THR) for partners. According to him, giving THR is a natural thing.
"The government hopes for the applicators, give them the rights to their demands. They do not ask for the salaries of the directors," said Immanuel through a loudspeaker in the front yard of the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower building, South Jakarta, Monday, February 17.
They don't ask for stocks. They only ask for their rights while on the streets. And that figure is natural for us as a government," he added.
Immanuel assessed that the THR is a form of bonus for workers. This will also help them ojol (mitra) drivers to fulfill their daily lives and make their families happy.
"The holiday allowance or bonuses or whatever the name is when they arrive in the middle of their family will be meaningful. And they will also pray for this applicator to be successful and keep going. That's what drivers will expect," he said.

Furthermore, if the company or ojol applicator feels heavy with the demands of the drivers.
According to him, the state will be coercive. Therefore, he asked the applicators to follow the instructions desired by the State of Indonesia.
"If it is even difficult, I want to say that the state is coercive. The state will not allow its citizens to be exploited. So, we must continue to fight for these online motorcycle taxi drivers regarding their holiday allowances," he said.
Immanuel hopes that all ojol drivers will continue to struggle to get their rights.
