Regarding AC Milan's Thin Victory, Zlatan Ibrahimovic Replaces Sergio Conceicao

JAKARTA - Former AC Milan striker who is now the advisor of club Zlatan Ibrahimovic responded to a narrow 1-0 Rossoneri victory against Hellas Verona's bottom team. On the other hand, coach Sergio Conceicao did not comment. What's wrong?

Ibrahimovic returned to his worries further than when Paulo Fonseca was still Milan coach. After winning over Verona in the Italian Serie A competition at the San Siro Stadium, Sunday, February 16, 2025 in the morning WIB, Ibrahimovic actually responded to the team's performance.

"It's a very important win. It's true that we only scored goals, but we were able to dominate," Ibrahimovic was quoted as saying by Football Italia.

Even though Ibrahimovic faced the media and held a press conference, he was not worried about Conceicao's work. Investigate, Ibrahimovic apparently replaced Conceicao, who was grieving.

Ya Conceicao was devastated after receiving news of the death of the president of the Porto club, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa. The 87-year-old man died on Saturday, almost at the same time as Milan's match against Verona. Conceicao has a close relationship with Da Costa. While coaching Porto, Conceicao won the Portuguese League title twice.

Da Costa himself became president of the club for 42 years. He led the elite club from 1982 to 2024. He won 68 titles, some of whom were with Conceicao as coaches.

"He [Conceicao] mourns the death of President Porto who has become a father to him. That's why I'm here," said Ibrahimovic.

In that match, Milan had to work hard before beating Verona 1-0 through a goal from Santiago Gimenez. The Mexican national team forward became the third player after Andriy Shevhenko and Christian Pulisic who scored in the first two matches in the Italian League.

"I hope everything goes well because Gimenez shows strikers who like to score goals," Ibrahimovic said again.

"It must be admitted that it is not easy for foreign players to come to Italy. But we are trying to help him unite with the team. He is also getting better," he said.

After facing Verona, the Rossoneri again faced Feyenoord in the second Champions League playoffs, Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in the morning WIB. In the first match, Milan lost 1-0. Milan had to pursue a goal deficit to turn things around and get rid of Feyennoord.

"We are Milan. So if we only rely on one player, then we will have a hard time. If you have many players, you will have more alternatives," said Ibrahimovic.

"Any coach will definitely rotate the squad if they play every three days. Otherwise the players will run out of energy and risk of injury. It is important for the players to keep playing and be confident," he said again.
