Doel Says Free Breakfast Program In Jakarta Continues To Run Unable To Budget Efficiency

JAKARTA - The elected Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno (Doel) said that the free breakfast program he promised with the elected Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung ran without obstacles.

Because, according to Doel, the free breakfast program in Jakarta schools was not affected by the budget efficiency instructed by President Prabowo Subianto.

"The road, because it has been budgeted. So, there are no obstacles, hopefully," said Doel when met at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office, Central Jakarta, Sunday, February 16.

Based on reports from the Pramono-Rano transition team in coordination with the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government, the budget efficiency of this year's DKI Jakarta APBD is no more than IDR 38 billion.

"Because the Jakarta APBD is actually independent, yes, he can really live independently. It just means of course we have to think about this efficiency, there must be an impact," explained Doel.

As for budget posts that are affected by efficiency, continued Doel, the most concerns official travel costs, food and drink budgets, to ceremonial and meeting activities.

However, budget cuts that are affected by efficiency are not fully disabled, but are limited to around 50 percent.

"There is no need for meetings in hotels, but maybe all of them should not be cut off, sorry for the million other hotels, the occupancy will decrease. So, more to arrange so as not to exceed the target," explained Doel.

On the one hand, Doel also admitted that he and Pramono must pay attention to the needs of the community in the near future, especially ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in the midst of budget efficiency.

Doel views that budget efficiency should not interfere with food availability for big days. In addition, the DKI Provincial Government must also continue to optimize free homecoming facilities for Jakarta residents to their hometowns during Eid.

"This will happen for the homecoming transfer. This is not an easy task, you know. Jakarta is almost 7 million people going home, meaning we have to focus on that too," said Doel.

"Don't be constrained by this efficiency. So that the program whose name is homecoming together must continue to exist," he added.
