Prabowo: The State Can't Work If The Elite Can't Cooperate, Especially The Thief

JAKARTA - The General Chair of the Gerindra Party who is also President Prabowo Subianto talked about the importance of cooperation between political elites. A country cannot succeed if its elite is not solid and even becomes a thief.

This was conveyed by Prabowo in his political speech in his 17th Anniversary of the Gerindra Party which was held in Sentul, West Java, Saturday, February 15. The former Minister of Defense initially spoke of a typical Indonesian democracy that did not know political opponents.

"There are no political opponents, there are friends in arms," Prabowo said during a speech in front of invited guests and cadres present.

The event was attended by the general chairman of the Indonesia Maju coalition (KIM) party to representatives of the PDI Perjuangan PDIP.

Then ministers and deputy ministers were also present in the Red and White Cabinet as well as other invited guests.

"And we compete but in the end we serve, serve the country, nation, and people of Indonesia," continued Prabowo, who received loud applause.

Prabowo then said he had confidence that only countries whose elites worked together could rise. He said, there have been many examples that have occurred and can be seen by the public.

"The state, if its elite cannot cooperate, moreover, it is impossible for the elite thief to succeed in the country," he said.

"We understand this, I understand this. Therefore, our democracy must be distinctive, our democracy must be after competing, we consider elections, regional elections a match. We compete. Once someone wins, there are losers we must unite, we must work together," he continued.

Even so, Prabowo said that not everyone must enter the government. "If necessary, yes. Otherwise, it's okay either. In a sense, those who don't enter we still consider the patriots of the Indonesian nation," he concluded.
