Gold Thief Specialist Women's Gang Targets Children In Children's Playing Rooms

The jewelry thief specialist gang was arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police. Uniquely, the gang of thieves consisted of four women with the initials AH (43), YI (30), NI (28) and NH (20).

The female perpetrators targeted children's jewelry. They often act at a Puri Kembangan mall, West Jakarta. The perpetrators took action by targeting children who were playing in children's playgrounds in the mall.

Even sad, one of the perpetrators is a mother who invites her child to carry out the theft.

Kembangan Police Chief, Kompol Moch Taufik Iksan said the four arrested perpetrators had the initials AH, YI, NI, and NH. They have different roles in carrying out crimes.

"The perpetrator AH is tasked with finding the victim's target, YI orders a ticket to the playground at the mall, NI oversees the surrounding situation and NH acts as the executor of the theft in carrying out his action of bringing a small child to take the gold necklace and the victim'sTAL," said Kompol Taufik when confirmed, Friday, February 14.

Kompol Taufik explained that the incident occurred on Sunday 9 February. At that time, the victim, who was opening a bazaar booth at a mall in the Puri Kembangan area, West Jakarta, left his son to play in the Kidz Zone with his caregiver.

However, when the victim returned to pick up his son, he found that his son's gold necklace had disappeared.

Realizing the theft, the victim immediately reported the incident to the Kembangan Police.

Following up on the report, the police team immediately carried out an intensive investigation.

On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at around 13.00 WIB, officers managed to identify the perpetrator that one of the perpetrators was known to have the initials NI, a resident of Tebet, South Jakarta.

However, after the pursuit, it was discovered that the perpetrator had moved to the Kebon Pala area, Kampung Melayu, East Jakarta.

The team led by the Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Rahmad Kurniantoro finally managed to arrest NI at a rented house on Jalan Kebon Pala I, Gang 5, Tanah Low, Kampung Melayu.

Not long after, another perpetrator with the initials YI came to the NI rented house and was immediately secured. From the results of the development, the police finally managed to arrest two other perpetrators, AH and NH.

"From the results of the investigation, the perpetrators have acted three times with a similar mode, targeting girls who are playing in malls," he said.

In addition, before taking action at the Puri Kembangan mall, the perpetrators had also carried out a similar action at Eco Park Tebet, South Jakarta.

From the confessions of the four perpetrators, they sell the stolen goods to meet their daily needs.

Currently, the four perpetrators are in the detention cell of the Kembangan Police. The four of them were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with weight.
