Catalunya Circuit Still Holds MotoGP Until 2031

JAKARTA The Catalunya Circuit in Barcelona, Spain, is confirmed to continue to hold the MotoGP racing series for the next six seasons or until 2031.

This assurance was announced by the MotoGP after they reached an agreement with the circuit in the latest cooperation agreement on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

"We celebrate this agreement, which strengthens Catalunya's relations with motorcycle racing, especially the Grand Prix," said the Minister of Business and Manpower of the Catalunya Government and the President of the Catalunya Circuit, Miquel Samper, quoted from the MotoGP website.

The Catalunya Circuit is one of the giants on the MotoGP calendar since its debut in 1992. The place has held a total of 34 Grand Prixs so far.

Last season the Catalunya Circuit was appointed to hold the final series titled solidarity replacing the Valencia series which experienced flash floods and severe damage.

"We are excited to sign this new deal with Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya."

"They never failed to make a festive weekend for world-class fans," said Dorna Sport CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta.

This season the Catalunya Grand Prix is in the 15th series. The race in that place is scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 September 2025.

In total, there are 22 series of races to be held this season. The race will start from Buriram, Thailand, from February 28 to March 2, 2025 and ends in Valencia on November 14-16, 2025.
